Origin note:Collected by Donna and Manuel Torres in northern Chile. Manuel Torres is an archaeologist. The plant appeared to be wild but was found well outside the accepted range for pachanoi, which is why the wild attribution is kept but flagged.

NOTES
Cactus AF warn that from around 2017 the similar looking Texas Torch, propagated by Creekside Nursery, was relabelled as Torres and spread through the community. Material acquired after that date needs a chain of custody.
Name drift · highSignificant. From roughly 2017, "Texas Torch" material (Bolivian Torch propagated by Creekside Nursery in Texas) was relabeled as Torres and spread widely. Cactus AF places Torres in a complex with LER, JS350a, and Texas Torch.
