ORIGIN

Locality:Peru

Origin note:Named after Olabode Ogunbodede, lead author of the 2010 Journal of Ethnopharmacology paper measuring mescaline concentrations across 14 Echinopsis taxa and cultivars, written with Douglas McCombs, Keeper Trout, Paul Daley and Martin Terry. Ogunbodede is the namesake, not the collector. Freaky Cacti record the line as first imported to America by Keeper Trout, from cuttings taken around Matucana, Peru.

NOTES
Clone / seed line
Name drift · highTwo sources flatly contradict each other on whether Ogun, KT-Ogun and Ogunbodede's Matucana are one plant or several. Freaky Cacti treat them as one, listing Trichocereus pachanoi cv. 'Ogunbodede' as also called KT-Ogun, Ogun and Ogunbodede's Matucana. Sonoran Spores say they are very different and not even the same species: Ogun a pachanoi from Sacred Succulents, KT-Ogun a peruvianus originally from Keeper Trout and now mostly from Misplant seed, while allowing that both come from the same area of Peru. Unresolved. Do not merge these records until someone with both plants in the ground compares them.Confused with: Ogunbodede, Ogunbodede’s Matucana, KT-Ogun
