ORIGIN

Locality:Tucson, AZ

Origin note:A monstrose form of Myrtillocactus geometrizans discovered and isolated by James Peterson. San Pedro Depot date the find to 11 April 2019, which they call Glorp day; Wikipedia dates it to 2020. Mass propagated by grafting, and generally reported to need grafting onto compatible rootstock to thrive rather than growing well on its own roots.

STORY
Jeremy (@Prickocereus) obtained his original as a roughly five inch tip directly from Peterson and grafted it onto a Sun Goddess (Altman's). After about two years on the graft it was described as roughly papaya sized.
NOTES
FLAG FOR REVIEW: wrong genus for this database. Myrtillocactus is not Trichocereus or Echinopsis, it is in a separate genus native to central and northern Mexico. TrichoDB describes itself as a reference for named Trichocereus clones. Either scope the database to include adjacent cultivars the community trades, or drop this record. The San Pedro Cactus Wiki does list it, so there is precedent for keeping it.

SPECIES
Not recorded
NOT A TRICHOCEREUS. This is Myrtillocactus geometrizans, a Mexican species in a different genus entirely. Recorded here only because the community trades it alongside Trichocereus and grafts it onto Trichocereus stock. See notes.
